A thief stole a mobile phone and a purse from a Doveton milk bar while the owner was with a customer.
Police said two men entered the store about 8.30pm on Wednesday 10 May.
One spoke to the shop owner and bought cigarettes while the other entered a non-public area and stole the owner’s belongings.
The first man then left the store, shortly followed by the second.
Police don’t know if the pair were together, but would like to identify them both.
CCTV images have been released.
The first man was about 25 to 35 years old and Caucasian with dark hair, and was wearing a dark-coloured jumper.
The second was in his early to late teens and Caucasian with a thin build, and was wearing jeans, a dark hooded top and a blue cap.
Anyone with information should call Detective Senior Constable Michelle Chiang at Casey CIU on 9705 3114 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
