While the Melbourne Show might be taking the limelight these school holidays, kids in the Doveton area were just as entertained at the Doveton Show.
Billed as the low-cost, family-friendly alternative to the Melbourne Show, thousands visited Myuna Farm on 24 September.
Sheep shearing, goat milking, wool spinning and a talking cockatoo were just some of the unique experiences at the show.
Strong winds kicked up a lot of dust but festivalgoers kept the smiles on their faces as they enjoyed the family day out.
While the animals were a big crowd favourite, a few local relics also made for an interesting pit-stop.
Nicholas Fuller from the Port Phillip Historical Machinery Society brought out a Sandwich engine from around 1925 to show off to the curious crowd.
The show is an annual, volunteer-run event over the September school holidays.
