The whole James Cook Primary School community has been preparing to display its singing and dancing talent on the Drum Theatre stage.
The Endeavour Hills school put on Journey to Bergen Town at the Dandenong Theatre on Wednesday 13 September.
This year’s annual production is about trolls planning a rescue mission to save their brethren from the Bergens.
But to reach them in Bergen Town they must travel through many lands.
Each year level brought a different land to life.
The Preps sang and danced to the Land of Dreams and Good Ship Lollipop while Year 1 and 2 took the audience to Monster Land and Land of Far, Far, Away.
Year 3 and 4 lit up the stage with Lego Land and Dr Suess Land and the Grade 5 and 6 students started the musical with Moana Island and ended with Bergen Town.
Principal Anne Burgess said she was proud of the fact that performing arts was one of many curriculum areas provided for students at her school.
She said this gave students the opportunity to build upon their prior experiences and knowledge.
It was important for students to develop their understanding and talents in different areas, she said, so that they can achieve a range of successes.
