POLICE were forced to abandon a car chase in Doveton last week because it became too dangerous.
Officers in an unmarked police car attempted to intercept the occupants of a white Ford sedan acting suspiciously in Eumemmerring near the Princes Highway on Wednesday 5 November, around 10am, but the driver refused to stop.
Police then chased the car through several streets in Doveton before it car drove onto the South Gippsland Highway and the officers called off the pursuit.
It’s understood the police pursuit was terminated because the offender was driving too erratically.
Police are still looking for the car’s occupants.
