FOUR contractors have been shortlisted to construct the City of Casey’s new arts, civic and cultural precinct.
The $125 million Bunjil Place will be built by either Brookfield Multiplex, Leighton Contractors, Lend Lease or Probuild. Expression of interest closed last month.
The chosen contractor is expected to be appointed before Christmas.
“Council is confident that it could partner with any one of the shortlisted contractors to successfully deliver the iconic building,” Casey Mayor Mick Morland said.
“From here, the shortlist will participate in a two-stage tender process which has been developed to ensure that best value for money is achieved for the project.
“The successful contractor will then work collaboratively with council, project architect, Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (fjmt) and the specialist consultant team to ensure that Bunjil Place is a visually stunning and fully functional building for the community.”
