Ruby celebrations for Hallam seniors

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

HALLAM Senior Citizens celebrated their 40th anniversary with cake on Tuesday 27 October, taking time to looking back on their milestone achievements.
The club’s longest serving member Poppy Brown along with president Dorothy Mickelson and 115 other members enjoyed an anniversary lunch, some bingo, bowls and raffling off goodies.
Ms Mickelson, a member of seven years, said: “We are a happy group … there’s always lots of laughs, new experiences and weekly activities.”
The group is always recruiting new members and Ms Mickelson said prospective members didn’t have to have any skills to join.
“We will be going on a catamaran luxury boat cruise in November with a three-course lunch provided as well – which we are all looking forward to,” she said.
