Bashed during carjacking

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

A YOUNG man was assaulted during a carjacking in the car park of the Prince Mark Hotel in Doveton on the night of Saturday 5 November.
Police were told that just before 1am, a 21-year-old man from Pakenham was getting out of his car at the pub when he was approached by another man.
The young man was then hit in the face with a baseball bat or similar object.
The man’s attacker then called over two more offenders who proceeded to steal personal items from the victim, and then got into his 2007 black Holden Commodore ute.
The three men, described by the victim as southern European in appearance and aged in their twenties, then left the victim in the carpark after stealing his car.
The ute has since been recovered, found dumped on Monday 7 November in Aylesbury Court in Hampton Park.
Investigations are ongoing and police are asking for any witnesses to the assault or the car being dumped to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
