Police caught two drivers allegedly speeding at more than 30 kilometres over the limit in Hallam on the long weekend.
Casey Highway Patrol members intercepted one driver traveling at 122km/h on the Princes Highway in Hallam – an 80km/h zone – on the Queen’s Birthday weekend.
A short time later, they stopped a second driver they detected at 111km/h in the same zone.
The intercepts were part of Operation Regal, a state-wide focus on road user behaviour and awareness around the importance of drivers taking responsibility for their own actions on the road.
Police targeted the main causes of fatalities and serious injuries, including speeding, driver distraction, drivers not wearing their seatbelt, fatigue, and drink and drug drivers.
