A busy industrial-estate intersection in Hallam is set to gain an extended right-turn lane and new street lighting as part of a $779,000 upgrade.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan announced the safety improvements at the Decor Drive and Princes Highway intersection.
Other works include a rebuilt centre median, reprogrammed traffic signals and safety barriers to prevent head-on and run-off-road crashes.
“This is a very busy intersection servicing important businesses in the community, which is why I’m proud to announce we’ll be making it safer and easier for people to use,” Mr Donnellan said.
“These upgrades are about making drivers more comfortable using this intersection and getting safely to wherever they need to go.”
Works are set to begin in late February, taking place between 9.30am and 3.30pm to avoid peak periods.
They are expected to be finished in mid-2020.
