Photos of your big day

For memories that last a lifetime, you will need a photographer to snap your special day. Deciding on the perfect wedding photographer can seem like a daunting task, but there are some ways to figure out who works best for you.

Consider your venue

Some venues would be able to offer you the details of photographers they have worked with in the past. You can ask to see their work or find them on social media. Their portfolio would include photographs of your same venue so you can get a feel of how your pictures would turn out.

Book an engagement shoot

After doing some research, book an engagement shoot with your desired photographer. This allows you to build a relationship with them, and if you enjoyed the results, your wedding photos will have a similar ’theme’ as your engagement snaps.

Establish costs involved

When considering a wedding photographer, it is important to establish how much you are willing to spend, as some may charge an hourly rate, and others may charge for a package deal. Ask the photographer if there will be extra charges for albums, additional pictures and high-resolution images.

Ask for recommendations

If you know of any family or friends who have been married recently, ask them who they recommend. Having just gone through the process, they would definitely be able to offer some tips.
