Hunt after carjacking rampage

A CARJACKER is being hunted after threatening two drivers and leaving one car in flames.
A woman, 44, stopped at Corrigan Road traffic lights near Athol Road in her blue Kia Carnival about 9.35pm on Friday 6 February.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Kim Alp said a man got into the passenger seat and demanded the demanded that the victim continue to drive.
She jumped out of the car so the carjacker took the wheel, but he soon collided with two poles and a boom gate at Lightwood and Corrigan roads.
He continued to drive with only three wheels for another 300 metres before the car caught fire.
The carjacker then stopped another driver, a 31-year-old man in a blue Toyota RAV4, and forced him to drive to Heatherton and Chandler roads.
He got out of the car at a Woolworths petrol station and fled on foot.
Sen Const Alp said there were no weapons involved and that the CFA extinguished the car fire.
She urged any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
