MOSSGIEL Park Primary School’s new Junior School Council was officially sworn in earlier this month.
Casey councillor Rosalie Crestani was at the Endeavour Hills school last Friday to formally induct the new student representatives and present them with badges.
“Student leadership is valued and encouraged at Mossgiel Park,” Welfare Officer Lyn Pentland said.
“Junior School Council provides an opportunity for two student representatives from each year two to six class to meet regularly to share their ideas, raise student concerns, plan activities and participate in decision making.
“Plus they contribute to social service fundraising events that take place in the wider community.
“The Junior School Council has a history of providing a ‘student voice’ within our school and these students have been chosen as their class representatives because they display leadership qualities such as initiative, co-operation, commitment, good organisational skills and are good communicators.”
