Festival skates on for youth

THE City of Casey is set to join in the fun for National Youth Week this month.
Young people from Casey are being encouraged to join in the celebrations from 10 to 19 April, which will include a live music Fringe Fest and the annual Rock ‘n’ Skate Festival, among other activities.
“Whether it be through volunteering, sport, art, music, education or community service, young people make valuable contributions to the Casey community and help make it a wonderful place to live,” Casey Mayor Mick Morland said.
“Council hopes the National Youth Week events will bring young residents together to meet new people, share ideas, talk about the issues that affect them and have fun!”
The Fringe Fest will be held on Friday 10 April from 6.15pm to 11.15pm at the Cranbourne Public Hall and allows a host of emerging young performers from the municipality to try their hand on stage.
The Rock ‘n’ Skate Festival will be held on Saturday 18 April at the Shed Indoor Skatepark in Cranbourne East and will include a scooter, BMX and skate competition.
