Girl breaks away from kidnap bid

A TEENAGE girl managed to escape into a nearby park after a man tried to take her from a Doveton bus stop this month.
The girl was standing at the Kidds Road bus stop about 10.15am on Wednesday 15 April near the intersection of Sheoak Street when a small silver 4WD stopped in front of her and the male driver inside offered her a lift.
When the girl refused, the man got out of the car and grabbed the victim’s arm but the girl broke free and fled into the nearby park.
It’s believed the offender got back into the car and drove off.
The victim did not sustain any injuries and no weapons were produced.
The offender is described as Middle Eastern in appearance, approximately 160cm tall, with short black hair, and was wearing a brown coloured V-neck T-shirt at the time and spoke with an Arabic accent.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
