Her values endure in scholarship

A NURSING scholarship is to honour Carol Friday.
The City of Casey registered nurse and midwife and her son Greig, 29, were on the Germanwings flight that crashed into the French Alps in March, killing all on board.
Premier Daniel Andrews on Saturday announced that the annual Carol Friday Scholarship for Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nursing Excellence would allow a high-performing Victorian nurse to complete postgraduate study to practice as a maternal and child health nurse.
“Ms Friday was highly regarded for her work to improve conditions and practices for all Victorian maternal and child health nurses,” Mr Andrews said.
“Her colleagues remember her deep commitment to supporting the community’s most vulnerable.”
Ms Friday was a mother of two, wife to Dave and a sister to three brothers.
Scholarship applications will open in September.
