BROTHERS Phillip, Richard and Stephen Herbert own and operate Dandenong South company NaturaStone.
The company was a finalist for induction into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.
Phillip said NaturaStone developed a six-millimetre quartz/acrylic composite that was the most advanced quartz surfacing material in the world.
“NaturaStone has focused on the development of a high tech, high quality, unique and innovative surfacing product,“ he said.
“This advanced next generation quartz surface and unique manufacturing process is the result of years of investment in research and development conducted in Victoria.“
Phillip said global demand for quartz surfaces and the limitations of polyester/quartz technology had fuelled NaturaStone’s acrylic/quartz composite.
He said NaturaStone was durable and easy to handle, could be applied to residential and commercial projects and could be installed as a complete new bench top or onto existing bench tops.
NaturaStone environmental programs ensured a long product life cycle, Phillip said, and reduced quartz consumption by more than 65 per cent.
He said the company had export opportunities and would create continual job growth.
“NaturaStone’s fortitude and innovation is determined to contribute to keeping alive the identity and the viability of Australian manufacturing,” Phillip said.
