P-plater nabbed at high speed

A P-PLATE driver who had only had his licence for six months was caught speeding 83km/h over the limit near Doveton.
Police pulled over the 18-year-old Hawthorn East man at 2.40am on Sunday 5 July after he was clocked driving at 183km/h on the Monash Freeway inbound between Belgrave-Hallam Road and the South Gippsland Highway.
The teenager had his car impounded and will be charged on summons.
