BRINGING hooves, snouts, tails and whiskers to Doveton for more than 20 years the Myuna Farm wants your feedback.
The ‘touch of farm life’ visitor experience is under review by the City of Casey with a master plan aimed at improving what the farm has to offer.
A draft Myuna Farm master plan has been developed by the council but mayor Mick Morland would like residents’ feedback to help improve the council’s strategy for the farm.
“The rapidly growing attendance numbers presents challenges that has required the council to develop a comprehensive plan to ensure the farm continues to meet the needs and expectations of the community in the future,” Cr Morland said.
Sustainability is at the core of the draft plan which looks at improving the farm’s connection with the Dandenong Creek trail and planting more shade and fruit trees around the space.
The council has proposed the design of a creative and integrated play space, the establishment of more informal open grassed spaces and an upgrade to the party rooms and the community gardens.
Cr Morland wants to see the loved community icon move with the times but keep its unique appeal.
“The draft master plan has identified opportunities to enable the farm to continue to improve while retaining its essential features and character,” he said.
