APPRENTICES will have their car registration costs halved next year.
Narre Warren North MP and Roads Minister Luke Donnellan announced the discount offer at Chisholm Institute in Dandenong on Friday 13 November.
The TAFE offers 12 courses that are eligible for the deal, meaning 2592 apprentices studying at Chisholm can access the discount from 1 January.
Bricklayers, carpenters, joiners, electricians and plumbers can apply if their employer can verify that their vehicle is essential to their work.
Eligible apprentices paying standard registration on a light vehicle in metropolitan Melbourne will save $385.70.
“We’re putting more money back in the pockets of apprentices so they can get the skills they need for their future career,” Mr Donnellan said.
