Christmas cheer all round

THE Friends of Ermera are once again bringing Christmas cheer to the Casey community this holiday period.
Just like previous years, the Casey-based community group, formed in 2002 to help people from the district of Ermera in East Timor, will be delivering Christmas trees to a range of kindergartens, schools and markets in Casey.
The money raised will go towards their projects in East Timor.
The Friends of Emera will be delivering their first tree to Brentwood Park Kindergarten on 30 November and will also be contributing to the Akoonah Park Market from 6 to 13 December.
The City of Casey and Friends of Ermera have worked on a number of projects together, including teacher exchange and professional development programs, providing sewing machines to women’s groups and sending over second-hand soccer boots to be used by children.
Several local Casey schools and kindergartens also have friendship links with a school or kindergarten in Ermera.
For more information on the Christmas trees, contact member Jan Trezise at jgtrezise@bigpond.com.
