All set for kids carnival

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

EASTER may be over, but the fun doesn’t stop in Casey.
The 18th annual Casey Kids Carnival is just around the corner, and families across the region are being urged to come down to the event on Saturday 9 April.
The carnival will be held at Akoonah Park in Berwick, from 11am to 4pm, with a jam-packed line-up planned.
“The Casey Kids Carnival offers something for the whole family including live performances, interactive activities, rides, market stalls, food trucks, roving entertainment and face painting,” Mayor Sam Aziz said.
“This year the lovable Minions and characters from The Wizard of Oz have been locked in to perform on the main stage and do meet and greets, giving children the chance to get a photo with their favourite big screen stars.
“There will be other performances on the main stage throughout the day from professional and community acts including singers, dancers, musicians and storytellers.”
Mayor Aziz said guests won’t be “short of things to do”.
“Around the oval there will be an abundance of market stalls, businesses and food vans to make your way around to, along with community groups conducting interactive activities,” he said.
“Each year thousands flock to Akoonah Park for this popular event, which is now in its 18th year, so make sure you put the date in your diary and join us for a great day out with the family.”
