Sense of belonging celebrated

A NEW art exhibition has been unveiled by Casey Council in conjunction with Harmony Day.
The exhibition, entitled ‘Belonging – Celebration of Harmony Day’, is currently on display at the Cranbourne Library Art Space until 30 April, after which pieces from the exhibition will be moved to Doveton and Endeavour Hills libraries from 3 May to 4 June.
Casey Mayor Sam Aziz encouraged residents to head to the exhibition, which the Federal Government contributed funding to through the Families and Communities Program.
“This new exhibition highlights the many cultures and communities that call the City of Casey home and coincides with Harmony Day – a day for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common,” he said.
“The exhibition features works from a number of local artists and participants of the Women Living and Learning Together program including Indigenous artworks, mandalas and paintings all representing circles of community and belonging in Casey.”
