CASEY Council has signed off on a new masterplan for Doveton.
The Autumn Place Masterplan promises a range of improvements for the area to be completed over the next five years, including an updated streetscape, a new town square, and an upgraded park with a new playground.
The plan also outlines a number of other improvements to be finished in the next 20 years.
Casey Council received 140 written survey responses and 27 submissions from residents which helped create the final version of the masterplan.
“We’re really pleased that so many residents got involved in the consultation which has allowed us to develop a masterplan that truly reflects the views of the people who use Autumn Place,” River Gum Ward councillor Damien Rosario said.
“We’ve prioritised funding to begin implementing the short-term priorities of the masterplan quickly.
“There are immediate moves to address long-standing community safety concerns through streetscape improvement works.
“This includes the replacement of the path areas on the north side that was identified as the top priority for the community.”
The streetscape enhancement works are expected to start in May this year.
