Reserve fire ‘deliberate’

POLICE are investigating what’s believed to be a deliberately lit fire which burned a quarter of a hectare of nature reserve in Hallam.
The grass fire destroyed a large patch of land in the Gunns Reserve, off the Monash Freeway, on Saturday 16 April.
Hallam CFA attended and extinguished the blaze around 6.30pm and police are currently investigating the fire.
Narre Warren Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Clark is hoping someone has seen the fire, due to its “reasonable size”.
Anyone with information on the blaze is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
