Door-to-door salesman attacks reluctant customer

A violent salesman punched an elderly resident to the ground outside his Endeavour Hills home.
Police are appealing for help to identify the man who launched his attack about 6pm on Wednesday 17 August.
The incident began when the 73-year-old victim answered his Dozey Place door to a salesman who tried to sell a product.
A verbal altercation ensued when the victim explained he wasn’t interested.
The attacker punched the man, who fell to the ground.
He stood up but was punched several more times and fell back down, striking his head on the nature strip.
The victim got up for a third time and tried to see the attacker’s identification, but was punched again and knocked back down causing him to hit his head.
He suffered lacerations to the back of his head and his gums, and swelling to his eye.
Endeavour Hills police are investigating the incident and appealed for the attacker to come forward.
He is described as Caucasian, 185 centimetres tall and aged between 25 and 35 years old with a lean, athletic build.
He was wearing dark trousers, a dark jacket, dark shirt and a lanyard identification.
He was well-spoken and carrying a computer tablet and a laptop bag over his shoulder.
