POLICE made the right decision when they decided not to pursue a Cranbourne man driving a car with stolen registration plates.
The 23-year-old ended up crashing the car and doing a runner in front of police, but was caught and arrested.
The attempted police pursuit occurred just after 10am on Wednesday 24 August, in Endeavour Hills.
Police in a marked car noticed the white Holden sedan crossing Heatherton Road.
Police attempted to intercept but the driver evaded police by doing a U-turn and travelling west.
Police didn’t follow and watched the Cranbourne man collide with a silver Holden sedan which had been travelling east.
The offender ran from the car and was later found by police in Chalcot Drive, Endeavour Hills, where he was detained and arrested.
He was charged with possession of stolen plates and evading police, and is set to appear before a magistrate.
