Man left with serious head injuries

Police are seeking witnesses after a man was hospitalised when a brawl broke out at the Nikola Tesla Serbian Club in Doveton early on Christmas morning.
A 52-year-old Hallam man was leaving the club when an altercation broke out between him and other man between 1.44am and 2.30am.
The fight escalated when between 10 and 15 males all aged between 20 and 30 years old became involved in the fray.
During the fight, a beer bottle was smashed over the 52-year-old man’s head.
He was taken to the Alfred Hospital with serious head injuries.
Investigations are ongoing to identify the males and police are appealing for anyone who was at the club or from within the Serbian community associated with the club to contact Senior Constable Tim Joustra at Narre Warren Police Station.
