Betula Reserve in Doveton will receive $51,000 towards new drainage as a legacy of the Asian Cup soccer tournament staged in Victoria in 2015.
The State Government grant will go to Casey council to apply to the Kidds Road reserve, which hosts Casey Kings Soccer Club and Doveton Steelers Rugby League Club.
Dandenong MP Gabrielle Williams said the benefits of the successful tournament would “live on long after the final whistle” through the state’s Victorian Asian Cup 2015 Legacy Fund.
She said 11 grassroots clubs were benefiting from the fund.
“The best facilities attract more people to grassroots sport. This will open more doors for aspiring soccer stars to play the game they love.”
