Visiting Chinese students got a heavy dose of Australian culture during a stay with families at Maranatha Christrian School, Endeavour Hills, in February.
The 21 Mandarin-speaking students took in Australian language and customs as well as touring with their hosts at landmarks such as Eureka Skydeck and Phillip Island’s Maru Koala Park, Amaze N Things and the Penguin Parade.
During the farewell afternoon tea, Maranatha students and their visitors exchanged dance performances and recounted the week’s highlights.
Maranatha student Jackson Barker gave a three-minute speech in Mandarin to the guests.
