Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a woman in Hallam.
Police received reports of a stabbing at an Alexander Street address about 12.40am on Saturday 27 January.
Emergency services worked on the woman, who is yet to be formally identified, but she died at the scene.
A 43-year-old Hallam man presented himself to a police station a short time later and was assisting police with their inquiries.
It is understood parties were known to each other.
