Girl sexually assaulted on bus

Police are investigating the reported sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl on a bus from Hallam to Narre Warren.

She had boarded the bus at Frawley Road, Hallam just after 1.50pm on 17 September, investigators from Victoria Police’s Transit CIU have been told.

An unknown man approached her, removed her bag from the seat next to her and placed it on her lap.

He sexually assaulted the girl and made “inappropriate conversation” before disembarking the bus at a shopping centre at Overland Drive, Narre Warren.

Police have released CCTV footage and still images of a man who they believe can assist their investigation.

The man is described as Middle Eastern in appearance, aged in his 30’s and with a receding hairline.

He was wearing a black suit jacket, sunglasses and spoke with a heavy accent.
