More charges over terror plot

THE Hallam teenager charged in relation to a foiled Anzac Day terror plot is now facing new charges.
In a court hearing today (Wednesday 16 December) prosecutors filed more charges against 18-year-old Sevdet Besim in relation to preparing for a terrorist attack, including searching internet sites and using his phone and online messaging applications, according to the ABC.
He was remanded in custody and will appear again next month, after being denied bail in May.
Besim’s arrest followed a tip-off from British police which led to a 200-strong joint state and federal police counter-terrorism team executing seven search warrants in Narre Warren, Hampton Park, Hallam and Eumemmerring as part of Operation Rising in April.
