The Victorian Department of Education’s Education Week topic of Crack the Code With Maths from 17 to 23 May is promoting all the career and personal benefits that students can gain if they apply themselves to their maths studies.
Careers include civil engineering, wildlife conservation, meteorology, medicine, zoology and many other less scientific careers also value the subject.
There are hundreds of other exciting and rewarding career options across a huge range of interest areas including computer science, game designing, engineering and architecture, zoo-keeping, motor mechanics and medicine.
And there are scores of tertiary maths-related study options available through Victoria’s leading universities and extensive network of vocational training providers.
And maths can also provide personal challenges.
Students can have hours of fun at home or school doing simple maths activities that provide a great introduction to mathematical concepts, methods and outcomes.
