Homicide Squad detectives charged a man with murder following the death of a woman in Hallam.
Emergency services were called to an address on Alexander Street about 12.40am on Saturday 27 January.
They treated a 41-year-old Hallam woman but she died at the scene.
A 43-year-old Hallam man presented himself to a police station a short time later.
Police charged him with murder.
He was to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Saturday afternoon.
