Police arrested a man in Doveton over a South Australian mother’s death.
Travis Kirchner was wanted in connection to Sally Rothe’s death in Murray Bridge on Sunday 4 February.
Just after 6pm on Friday 9 February, officers from Victoria Police Fugitive Task Force and Homicide Squad attended a Doveton home after receiving information from South Australia Police’s (SAPOL) Major Crime Investigation Branch.
They arrested Kirchner without incident, plus a 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman from Murray Bridge for assisting an offender to escape apprehension.
The arrest followed extensive searches of more than 110 properties since Ms Rothe was found dead.
Officers from SAPOL’s Major Crime Investigation Branch travelled to Victoria over the weekend to apply for the arrested trio to be extradited to South Australia to face charges.
They were to appear in the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Monday 12 February.
