THE future is more than bright at Gleneagles Secondary College.
On Friday the Endeavour Hills-based high school held a whole school assembly to acknowledge its 2015 student leaders.
Principal Sue Peddlesden was joined by Narre Warren North MP and Roads and Ports Minister Luke Donnellan to present the students with their badges.
Ms Peddlesden said the new leaders had been selected after a “highly competitive process”.
“The college was delighted that Mr Donnellan was able to attend the assembly, speak to the students and present the student leaders with their badges and the college captains with their blazers,” she said.
“Each of the college captains addressed the audience to articulate their vision for the year to come.”
At the assembly Ms Peddlesden also thanked Mr Donnellan for the state government’s recent $1 million contribution to the school’s new soccer ground – a joint venture between the college, the City of Casey and the state government.
“The planning is well under way and the new soccer field will be a great facility for the school, the Hallam College Sports Academy and local soccer teams,” she said.
“The college has sought to develop this facility for over 15 years and it is exciting that it will be built in the near future.”
