Bail after bomb scare

A 27-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after police rushed to a bomb scare in Doveton this month.
The police Bomb Response Unit was called to the Ti-Tree Drive property just after 10.30am on Thursday 18 June where they conducted a safety search on a car and by 1.30pm deemed the area safe.
Police raided the property to arrest the Doveton man in relation to an alleged stolen trailer, but when they arrived found what they thought was a pipe bomb.
After bomb squad investigations the report was deemed a false alarm.
The man was still charged with handling stolen goods and was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court in August.
