‘Good Samaritan’ killed on freeway

A ‘good Samaritan’ has been killed after stopping to assist another driver on the Monash Freeway in Endeavour Hills.

Police say a car travelling east on Heatherton Road crashed into traffic lights, drove on and came to rest on the freeway about 3.15am on Monday 19 July.

A woman stopped her car to help and was struck by another car. She died at the scene.

The driver of the car that initially crashed was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are questioning the driver that struck the woman.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
